This resort is one of the premier and most legendary ski resorts in the United States located near Lake Tahoe in California. It began to develop in 1960 after hosting the Winter Olympics. It is not just one of the epicenters of winter sport in the US, but also a stylish pedestrian village with a charming and welcoming European atmosphere, shops and restaurants. 
 
Depending on the season, the resort offers a variety of activities for all tastes. The most popular winter activities for different age groups and levels of experience include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snow golf, winter expeditions, and snowshoeing. During the warm seasons, visitors can play disc golf, go on a hike to discover Squaw Valley, do rock climbing, try a ropes course and attend one of the iconic fests in the area. The amenities of Squaw Valley Ski Resort include 2,000 vertical feet of chutes, cliffs, and steep trails; 29 lifts, 50 restaurants, cafes and pubs, rental centers, shops, ski and snowboard school, yoga studio, High Camp & Olympic Museum, and three lodging options.  
 
The resort with an area of 3,600 acres is well known for its groomed highways, terrain parks, and European style wide open spaces. It had become one of the top ski resorts in the United States and was ranked the 4th best winter resort in North America by readers of Freeskier and Skiing magazine.
